Bye bye

Just to let you know, I'm going to the Philippines for 6 weeks. So I don't know how often I can update this. I might write my blog here and then let everyone read it. I haven't decided yet. So stay tuned!

Bornholm

We were just in Bornholm this last weekend. It's a little island that is part of Denmark, but you have to go through Sweden to get to it! Bornholm is to Denmark what Tazmania is to Australia, or Newfoundland is to Canada... the brunt of all jokes! It was a very nice and cozy time though. We hung out at a youth cafe a lot which is owned and run by several of the free churches. It's a safe place in the middle of town where all the teenagers from the different churches can come and meet each other and hang out. I preached there the Friday night. Then on Saturday, we took the tour around the island to see all the sights.

We went to this one rock cliff face by a beautiful lake and went rapelling down the cliff. That was fun, but I enjoyed the free climbing I did on the rocks nearby a little more. I like to have my blood and adrenalin pumping! After that we went to this place by the ocean with a long deep crack cave in the rocks that you could go to the depths of. I was at the front with another girl and we went all the way in. In some places we had to turn sideways and duck to go through because it was so tight. And no one had a flash light, so we were taking many pictures so we could see in front of us! After that we went to a icecream parlor where the Bornholm boys bought me the "world's bigget icecream cone." That was an experience! They wanted me to try to break the record in eating it the fastest. So I tried! I ate it all in 11 minutes! But the record is 8 min and 27 seconds. So I failed. And I have never been so sick in my entire life! I was leaning over the edge of the road trying to puke to feel better. I even tried putting my fingers down my throat, but it didn't work. I make a very bad bulemic! So, the ice cream stayed in my belly and the rest of my day was ruined as I stayed in the car with my plastic bag in case I did throw up. But it was a neat experience and I would do it again if I could turn back time, just for the story!
After church on sunday it was back home on the ferry to my beautiful town of Kolding! Home sweet home!

Preaching

Wow, time flies. I was just about to write about "last weekend" when i realized it was the weekend before that I was thinking of. Okay. Start over. The weekend before was a really good weekend. We were in Sonderborg and I got to preach when I was there. I had an original sermon that I carefully prepared because I knew that the father of one of my students was going to be there. And he is not a Christian. So I did the sermon on Sunday morning. People laughed and had a good time. And I think people really got something out of it. Well, later that week, the dad called his girl and told her to tell the "preacher girl" that "she did a really good job and was really funny." He also liked the fact that I was smiling and having a good time. That was so touching! Praise God. I really hope that a seed was planted in his life. So if you think to pray, pray for Steph's dad. Thanks.

And on a completely different note, I'll talk about this last weekend. Might as well! Hehe.

We had Upload, which is an event for young adults. We set up some cameras to film the entire thing to. And I got to operate the professional stage roaming camera! It was so much fun to get back in it! We also filmed a video this whole weekend that we will use to make a countdown video for Upload to start the services off. It was so fun! I can't wait to see the finished product!

Copenhagen Mini Outreach

We had a really good weekend in Copenhagen. I was really tired, a lot, but it was good. We arrived at the church Thursday night and had a little service and social time with the youth group there. I preached a short message about the Armor of God. It was a fun time. Then we went up to our room where the 7 of girls slept in one room. Oh the mattress and sleeping bag! My best friend. If only I could sleep like that every night... (Please tell me you note the sarcasm in my typing...) We also didn't have a shower where we stayed either. What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger! Or at least the smell get's stronger! Friday we went to a school in the morning to put on a performance and hang out with the students. Then we went sightseeing and shopping. We shopped for 5 hours! Can you believe it! I was tired let me tell you! Then we went to the largest church in Denmark to participate in their new album recording. It was really good worship, but a long day.

The next day we did some practical work around the church and then taught three dramas to a team that is going on a mission trip to Wales. That was fun, they did a really good job! Then we went to another church at night for a big youth meeting there. We did dances and dramas, and I preached to about 100 people. It was so fun. I loved preaching and it seemed like everyone enjoyed it too. We had so good times chatting then it was back home. Sunday we had service in the morning, relaxing time in the afternoon, then to another worship service at another church. From there I met a friend of mine and went back to her place to spend the night and chitchat as the Euroclassers went home. It was so fun. Now it's back, business as usual!

Football

So I got a text to come to the Cutting Edge young adults group yesterday and bring shoes and clothes to play football in afterwards. Now, me being Canadian, I'm not very good at 'football' or soccer as we would call it. So I wasn't very excited, but whatever, I would play. We had a great session before hand where two guys from the group shared about knowing our identity. Then afterwards, we went over to the Sports Hall where I found out it wasn't scandinavian football but... American football! I was soooo excited. I love American football! (And I'm not too bad at it either). So I was excited to play a fun sport, and not suck. It was a really good night. A few heated arguments and confusion of the rules. But in the end, my team came out victorious! What a game! I have never played it indoors before. But it was fun regardless.

Now this afternoon we are leaving to go to Copenhagen where we will separate into our teams and minister in different churches and suburbs there. I'm preaching tonight at a youth group and really excited for it! God is good! I'll let you know all about it later! God bless!

It was a good weekend!

This was a really good weekend. Today especially! I love hanging out with people! After church I invited some of the girls back to Euroclass to eat lunch. All the students were gone, so we had it to ourselves. Then we went over to the boarding school and played some beach volleyball. It was still cold, but today was gorgeous, and the sun was actually warm! I took my socks and shoes off and suffered the cold sand! Come on! Bring on the summer! Then we watched 'Over the Hedge' with the boys. That is a funny movie. My favorite part is at the end when Hammy drinks the energy drink. So good! Anyways. Then me and the girls hung out, had girl chat, hung out and then went to eat some pizza! Good times were had by all! I feel so good! God is so good! I am getting to hang out with people now! This week has been super cool.
And if you read my last blog, there is something to add! Then next day, after surpising Kasper, we went out to the pool hall again to celebrate... again. And then we went dancing at a little club, all of us. It was fun. It was sober, but it was also loud and crazy, as friends can be in large groups. Anyways, on the way home we had more trouble with the cops! They stopped us this time and Kasper had to do a breathalizer, which he passed, but it was still a little scary! I don't know if I want to drive with him too much, because everytime I do... well. I like taking risks! Who am I kidding, a little adventure never was scared of me!

Well, that's all I have to say.
